Atlanta, GA--  In celebration of MLK Day, Turner Field is opening its doors for free and getting the city in the mood for the opening of Baseball season in a few months.

Today, January 17th from 10am -2pm, all are welcome to head down to Turner Field to check out the Braves Museum and Hall of Fame.  This is a great experience for the young and old Braves fans to see the history of the Atlanta Braves, which of course includes Hank Aaron and the lovable Bobby Cox.

 

The event is totally free and viditors can also get a free guided tour of the stadium, which is one of the newest in the league.

Braves training camp begins in the next week, and the Braves season opens on March 31st.

Atlanta, GA--  The Falcons have risen up to be Division Leaders and are fully on their way to a deep NFL playoff run.  Jonathan Babineaux, veteran Defensive Tackle, must believe in "paying it forward" and that good things come to those who give back because in 2010 he has given back to over 50 charities in local area.

As of January 2011, Jonathan Babineaux has donated to 51 community and non-profit organizations.  Jon babineaux donated home game tickets and special T-shirts.  Babineaux created his “Babineaux’s Unit” as a means to simply say “Thank You”.  Jonathan purchased approximately $40,000 lower-level tickets and custom-made t-shirts for Atlanta’s non-profit community organizations.

Next month, two of the city's finest will climb into the ring for a cause close to their hearts, the Atlanta Police Athletic League, a non-profit program that uses sports, education and recreation to connect police and local youth.

Want to Run in Atlanta's Half Marathon this Thanksgiving? Train with a Coach Now

Atlanta, GA-- For those runners who will be running in the Atlanta Half Marathon on Thanksgiving morning, Coach Will Dillard, along with Fleet Feet Sports Atlanta, will have a training program designed specifically for intermediate and veteran runners.

An informational meeting and sign up will be at Fleet Feet Sports Atlanta on Sunday, September 12th at 3:00 p.m., and group runs begin Saturday, September 18th.

The cost of the program is $99.00 and will include the following: Ten Saturday group runs from various locations with optional Wednesday training runs beginning October 6th, a detailed written schedule, seminars on injury prevention and nutrition, access to Coach Will at the runs and by email for training questions, weekly email training tips, a long sleeve technical tee for race day, and socks and other goodies from program sponsors.
