Man sentenced to life plus 5 years for East Point sexual assaults | News
ATLANTA — The man accused of sexually assaulting multiple women in East Point is going to jail for the rest of his life, officials say.
Terry Young pleaded guilty to more than two dozen counts related to the sexual assaults that took place in early September in 2015. The judge sentenced him to life in prison, plus five years. After court proceedings, Young turned to his victims and stated, "Sorry, y'all. My bad."
Officials say last year, Young raped four different women at gunpoint between Sept. 3 and Sept. 9 after forcing most of them to withdraw money from bank ATMs.
After the sentencing, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard stated that "it's always important to take a serial rapist off the street" and that he hopes the "community can rest easier after today's guilty plea."
