Man arrested for credit card fraud

WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Woodstock Police have arrested a man accused of having and using at least 15 fraudulent credit cards.

Investigators said 30-year-old Ben Achampong was taken into custody while trying to buy something at BJ's Wholesale in Woodstock on Monday. They determined he had used the cards at stores in East Point, Roswell and Sandy Springs as well.

A search of Achampong's home turned up the computer equipment he most likely used to create the cards, as well as fraudulent cards from victims in Colorado, Georgia, Michigan and Texas.

Achampong was charged with identity theft, fraud and forgery. He is being held without bond in the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
