Renowned for his choreography in some of Broadway’s most popular productions and on internationally acclaimed dance companies, New York-based choreographer Ronald K. Brown, Artistic Director and Choreographer of EVIDENCE: A Dance Company lands his dancing feet in East Atlanta for a ONE DAY ONLY. Learn to dance from him in one of the "DanceAfrica 2013" Community Dance Classes presented by GIWAYEN MATA, Atlanta’s award-winning all-sistah dance, percussion, and vocal ensemble on Sunday, April 15 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m, Dance 411 Studios 475 Moreland AVE Atlanta, GA 30316.

The Atlanta Fair Returns to Turner Field

The annual Atlanta Fair returns to Turner Field this week with new attractions, activities and fun for the whole family. Beginning March 8 and running nightly through April 8, visitors can delight in fair favorites, test their strength at the Hi-Striker and check out all of the pageants and programs that the fair has to offer.

Each weekend, wild critters will be making an appearance from the Ellijay’s Wilderness Animal Sanctuary exhibit in North Georgia. Popular kid-friendly rides such as the beloved carousel and Mardi Gras Glass house will be returning, while thrill seekers can experience the “Ring of Fire,” a new feature that will loop its riders upside down over 45 feet in the air.

Braimah’s master classes cost as little as $5 dollars and are part of the ‘DanceAfrica Atlanta Class Series’ produced by GIWAYEN MATA, Atlanta’s all-female dance, percussion and vocal ensemble.

Feb 15, 2011 (Atlanta, GA) – This weekend in Atlanta, Black History Month anticipates the teachings of a world-renowned drum master. Ghana-born djembe and dunun master drummer Weedie Braimah will teach a drum workshop at BNM Studio located 409 Mead Road Decatur, GA 30030.  Joined by New Orleans native  and dancer, Christan Carter, expect to learn how the dance movements correspond with high-energy West Africa drumming techniques.

Space! takes the audience on a fun-filled rock-n-roll exploration of the cosmos.Written and Directed by Jon Ludwig and music composed by John Cerreta this 2011-2012 family series runs from January 26 through March 11 at the main stage theater.
